Tip Time: For the Beginner Blackjack Player, Some Suggestions from the Experts

I love blackjack and although I am NO card counter (I am learning, though), I talk to a lot of pros.

Every once in a while I like to give out some of their advice to y’all, so here goes:

The reason why Blackjack is the most popular card game all over the world is it’s easy  to learn and play.

Blackjack is a game that favors the dealer. Of course. Duh. But you can win, if you follow some basic techniques. Money management is another very important aspect of this game. No matter what amount you bet, you have to bet carefully.

The basic strategy is perhaps the most important one. If you can memorize the basic strategy, you’ve already won half of the game.

If you can learn to card count…there are many card counting strategies and we cover a lot of them… it lessens the advantage of the house.

It calls for a lot of time and effort to learn to count cards and to master them is more hard-work than actually playing the game on the table.

When you go to a casino, choose the right table where you are confident that you can play blackjack perfectly and beat the other players with your expertise. To find the right table, look at those tables where players are winning very frequently.

I also like to sit in the last position…  so I can count high cards, low cards, etc.

A good idea is to tip the dealer from time to time. If you can do that, the dealer will also ‘take care’ of your game.

I would practice online. Online casinos often offer free practice games. PRACTICE.

The strategies are almost same as that of the land-based casinos, and every online casino offers comps or bonuses that are as lucrative as the land-based ones.

Online casinos have bonuses to lure you into their net. Check those out. You can win maximum amount of bonuses if you can regularly play online blackjack. Online blackjack tournaments are also taking place these days to cater to those who like to play multiplayer games. In these tournaments, players from all around the world can play and wager without having to leave their homes.

Here is a tip an expert told me the other night. It seems so obvious. But for beginners…. don’t try to get closer to 21 when you already have a good hand.

If you can find a brick and mortar casino with one deck blackjack, play. Downtown Las Vegas has some of those. But not the casinos on the strip. Their dealers use six decks. Much harder to count.

Those are just a few tips. We’ll have more in a few weeks.
