Is there such a thing? Well, if we are to go by the title, then there is. This book is titled “The World’s Greatest Blackjack Book” (yeah I know, where is the creativity?) and is written by Lance Humble, Ph.D. and Carl Cooper, Ph. D. As it is written by two men with doctorates in Philosophy, this book should be good, right?
I cannot tell you for certain as I have never read the book myself but here is what I have heard about it. The book is basically your ultimate guide in card counting basics. If you do not know how to count cards in an effective way, then this book can teach you how to do that. The thing is, the book is apparently focused on the basics of blackjack and card counting in the game. A plus is that you can learn to employ the basic card counting techniques whether you are playing at a casino or in a private game. That flexibility should come in handy, especially if you vary your playing venue from time to time.
If you are an advanced blackjack player, however, you might find the first part of the book a bit boring. This is because the very basics are covered in this part. From the card values to the aim of the game – these are the things that you will read about initially. Understandably, if you have been playing for even just a week, you would know about these things.
The bottom line is that this book is a very good resource for the new blackjack player. Intermediate to advanced players might want to find something else.
