Here are some more myths about blackjack that you should be wary of:1. Taking insurance every time you have a blackjack
The insurance could possibly be the stupidest bet in blackjack. If a person were to take insurance every time they get a blackjack then they would effectively be giving away 13 per cent of the profit that a blackjack would pay. The only way for a player to even just get even with insurance is that you would have to guess correctly 1 in 3 times – which are not good odds. You should only consider using insurance when you are using a card counting strategy.
2. The casino dealer is hot
When you consider it mathematically, when a player is winning at the blackjack table it means that the deck composition is in his favor, and when he is losing it is not.
The dealer does not need to make any choices, he simply follows the house rules. But you as a player have a choice. And it is this choice that would ultimately determine if you are going to be successful or not.
3. People who enter a game in the middle of a shoe will make you lose.
This belief is quite similar to a player taking an extra card or a player leaving in the middle of a game. None of these will actually cause you to lose a game that you are already playing.
